1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. CreatorLift also uses local storage and session storage, which work similarly but keep data in the browser rather than sending it with every request. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these technologies.
We use them for a deliberately small set of purposes: keeping you signed in securely, remembering your interface preferences, and supporting the embedded YouTube player used for learning tasks. CreatorLift does not run advertising cookies and does not sell data to advertisers.
2. Strictly necessary cookies and storage
These are required for the Platform to work. They cannot be switched off from within the app, because sign-in, security and payment verification depend on them.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Stores your authenticated session so you stay signed in across pages and refreshes, and so protected routes and server functions can verify you. | Session + refresh window (up to 30 days) | Local storage / cookie |
| Verification state | Tracks that your six-digit email code has been confirmed for the current sign-in. | Session | Session storage |
| OAuth return state | Temporarily holds the return URL and provider token exchange when you authorise YouTube access, so you come back to the same onboarding step. | Minutes | Session storage |
| CSRF / security tokens | Protects form submissions and server functions against cross-site request forgery. | Session | Cookie |
3. Functional (preference) storage
These remember choices you make so the interface behaves consistently. Clearing them only resets your preferences.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| sidebar_state | Remembers whether the navigation sidebar is expanded or collapsed. | 7 days | Cookie |
| theme | Stores your light/dark appearance preference. | Persistent until cleared | Local storage |
| splash-seen | Prevents the mobile splash screen from replaying every time you open the app. | Persistent until cleared | Local storage |
| Task watch progress cache | Keeps your latest watch-progress percentage locally so the indicator resumes accurately if you refresh mid-task. Authoritative progress is always re-verified on the server. | Until task completion | Local storage |
4. Analytics and performance
We rely primarily on server-side, first-party records — task completion, distribution history and error logs — rather than third-party tracking scripts. Where performance and error diagnostics are collected, they are used only to keep the Platform reliable and are not used to build advertising profiles or to identify you across other websites.
If we ever introduce optional analytics cookies, we will ask for your consent first and list them in this policy before they are set.
5. Third-party cookies
Some features embed third-party services that may set their own cookies once loaded. These are governed by the provider's own policies:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube (youtube.com / ytimg.com) | Powers the embedded IFrame player used for learning tasks, including playback state and watch measurement. We use the privacy-enhanced player where available. | Set by YouTube | Third-party |
| Google Accounts | Handles Google sign-in and the YouTube read-only authorisation consent screen. | Set by Google | Third-party |
| Paystack | Secures card payment and subscription checkout, and helps prevent fraud. | Set by Paystack | Third-party |
See the Google/YouTube cookie notice and Paystack's privacy policy for details.
6. How to manage or delete cookies
- Browser controls: every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies and site data from its privacy settings. Search for "cookies" in your browser settings.
- Per-site clearing: clearing CreatorLift's site data signs you out and resets preferences; your account, tasks and membership are unaffected.
- YouTube access: revoke CreatorLift's YouTube permission any time from Google account permissions or Settings → YouTube.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in, task tracking and payment verification from working.
7. Updates and contact
We review this policy whenever we add or remove a technology that stores data in your browser. The effective date above reflects the latest version. Questions about cookies: admin@joincreatorlift.com.
